THEY NEVER TOLD HER

They never told her who she is
All she got painted with on her face
Was the truth that lies in her dreams,
For reality never gave her a chance
To see the other side of life

They complimented her beauty,
How cute she looked
The swagger she had on the streets,
Yet they never knew
What was embedded inside her heart

She let pride take over her life,
Hence her thoughts kept on whispering
“You are born to win
Pity that her mind was imprisoned by
Friends which never wanted her to succeed

She decided to follow their tracks,
Listened to what said
Believed more in their abilities
They forced her to hang up the wakeup call,
She then answered the land-line of sins
And her beautiful visions were kept on hold

It was fun when they went out every night
Missing Sunday services
With an excuse of being hanged over,
They started with lose draws
To a point of losing her innocence
To someone who was never in her league

Coke became her breakfast,
She inhaled in her life shortenings
Exhaled her spirit back to the kingdom of hope,
She became a dead walking being
Her bones began to slide against each other,
She was just waiting to kick her death penalty.

Life played with her so badly
That the only thing she achieved
Was a medical certificate showing
Her positive status of the virus,
Yes she was a positive carrier.

She became a prisoner in her home
Locked up in her room
The shadows of darkness dominated her life,
She never saw the sunshine
She cried but no one was there to wipe her tears
When days are dark, indeed friends are few

She learnt it the hard way
They felt sorry for her,
But time couldn’t be reversed
She lost everything she deserved
Just because,
THEY NEVER TOLD HER THAT
SHE IS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE…
